Joel's Story
Life
Life, in 4000 characters or less, eh? Good luck!
But, here is a synopsis...
Dropped out of high school, joined the Navy. Got out of the
Navy and became a Gloucester fisherman of all things. Worked
as a direct care staff for the Dept Mental Retardation for a
few years where I met my wife (coworker, not a patient).
Worked in hard core debt collections, graduated to the
lighter accounts receivables. Finally got a job as a AS400
systems operator, learned how to hack since there was nothing else
to do. Got hired by BBN for the firewall management service,
got a CCNA and mo...Expand for more
ved up to network analysis/security. Went to
work for a startup consulting firm doing security consulting.
Got my CISSP certification, and got laid off. Had my daughter,
Alexandria Fae, who kept me out of harms way on Sept 11th.
Landed a job at Tufts University doing security "stuff".
Received a fellowship at the American Institute of Forensic
Examiners (FACFEI). My son, Isaac Michael, was born and proved
that my daughter wasn't the best baby possible.
That's the highlights. Plenty of stuff in the lowlights that
were pretty remarkable as well, but I'll leave that for later.
